Dream review
from Q Magazine, 1995
by Ken Hunt
[archived here without permission]
Loosely conceived in the studio during one of Real World's roll-tape-and-see sessions and improvised largely in an unIndian way, although wrapped around Srinivas's miniature electric guitar-mandolin mastery, Dream emerges as a polished creation, assembled and controlled by experimental Canadian composer Brook, who edges Srinivas towards a slightly more Western atmosphere than he's used to. Cellist Caroline Lavelle, violinists Sikkil R. Bhaskaran, Nigel Kennedy, vocalist Jane Siberry and percussionist Nana Vasconcelos are among those who potter through the soundscapes adding colour and texture.
